Yale Day of Service - Three Sites on the Peninsula on May 11th!

Support Bay Area families in need by volunteering with organizations that distribute food and clothing in San Jose. Help the environment by volunteering outdoors at the Arastradero Preserve in Palo Alto.

Calling all Yalies!

We've got a very nice selection of volunteer sites for the Yale Day or Service this year.  I sincerely hope each one of you finds a volunteer opportunity that inspires you!  Take a look at our selection below:

Please join us at the Lifemoves Villa Family Shelter in San Jose. The Villa Shelter serves as a clothing closet for four other shelters in the area. Villa houses women and children. We will be sorting and organizing donations as well as decorating the space for Mother’s Day. If it’s a nice day, we may have an opportunity to work outside. Bring your energy and crafting supplies! Children 10 and up are welcome.

Sacred Heart in San Jose offers a variety of services to low-income families and individuals in need. Their vision is a community united to ensure that every child and adult is free from poverty. Our group will work in the pantry and clothing closet. Volunteers will make brown bags and sort clothing for Sacred Heart members.

Children ages 6 and up are welcome. Please wear closed toe shoes and clothes that cover your shoulders.

Or how about digging in at the Arastradero Preserve in Palo Alto, where you can enjoy family-friendly, hands-on activities like planting, weeding and creating habitat structures. Our environment will feel good and so will you!
